Bayes' Theorem

Bayes' Theorem provides a universal tool for describing mathematically how we learn about unknowns from data. It is useful in all kinds of problems, from basic science to medical care. I use it nearly everywhere in my teaching and research activities.

Foundations of statistics; decision theory; how models of rationality can be be used to understand how we learn from data.

Small group teaching/learning within interdisciplinary team.
