Our Department

Our Department

The Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology combines independent research, collaboration, and consultation in quantitative methods as they apply to cancer, the environment, and research into AIDS, as well as focusing on the application of functional genomics techniques and the development of computational approaches in support of these studies to develop a comprehensive view of human diseases including cancer.

Our Research

The breadth of our research covers everything from traditional biostatistics in cancer research to analysis of gene expression in human cancers and cancer models; see what we are up to!

The department currently has 34 senior and junior faculty members, 6 researchers, 21 master's-level statisticians, 34 postdoctoral fellows, and 50 graduate students. The breadth of their research covers everything from traditional biostatistics in cancer research to analysis of gene expression in human cancers and cancer models.

The department has a close partnership with the Department of Biostatistics at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where the majority of our faculty hold primary academic appointments, as well as the Harvard Medical School and the Department of Statistics at Harvard University.
